Agree on scope
Start with practice locations, systems, workflows, and the services being purchased. Clarify whether the work is a technical assessment, support for a formal risk analysis, or a focused readiness review. Agree on evidence handling and authorized testing.
Examine real safeguards
The reviewer may interview staff, inspect policies, review configurations, and assess physical access arrangements. Use secure channels for approved evidence. Patient records and production credentials should not be collected through a public website form.
Leave with priorities
A useful report explains observations, risk reasoning, recommended actions, owners, and verification steps. Discuss dependencies with your IT provider and legal advisers. Findings are a starting point for risk treatment, not a certificate of compliance.
